| | Three Levels of Learning.
A few days ago I brought to you a story that I hope you were able to relate to. Often times the roughest patches of our lives seem to offer the most poignant lessons, if we choose to look for them.
Believe it or not, we are confronted with "pop quizzes" every single day often disguised as problems. It is the way of the Universe. If we choose to ignore the lesson, and blame circumstances, other people, or bad luck, the Universe has a way of repeating that pop quiz over and over again until you take notice.
Does that sound familiar?
Let's use an example of someone you might know.
We all know someone who is perpetually unprepared. Day after day, they simply "go with the flow." They take little responsibility for tomorrow yet always seem to have excuses for when things go wrong.
This is a good illustration of what it means to mature. Many young adults fail to plan for tomorrow and are often caught off guard by upcoming, unforeseen circumstances. However, eventually, as they mature, they begin to learn the lessons from that experience and start to change their habits to reflect a more prepared existence.
Thus I offer to you the second level of learning.
I hear you "Wait a minute! Where was the first level?"
The first level of learning was in the second paragraph of this entry. Learning begins when we are exposed to new ideas, or reminded of old lessons learned. The explanation of "pop quizzes" from the Universe was a new idea for some of you, or a reminder of lessons learned before. In either case, that is a representation of the first level of learning. This is a surface level of learning. The concept makes sense and you feel as though you understand it. It is at this level where you might say something like "That makes sense! I understand what you mean by that."
The second level of learning is when you can witness the concept in the lives of others. As you consider your laid back friend, you begin to see the lesson in action. Often times you can use the wisdom of the lesson to predict future outcomes, and often times even manifest them in others. (We will discuss this principle in future posts.) At this level of learning you achieve a deeper understanding of a surface level experience. This allows for a more conceptual type of learning that will further your personal wisdom as you develop the ability to notice characteristics in others that will help you to predict future behaviors and outcomes.
The third level of learning is where true learning occurs. When we begin to take the wisdom we acquire from the second level of learning and point it inward toward ourselves we can begin to manifest positive changes in our lives, and the lives of the ones we love.
This is a critical level that must be attained in order to make Massive Breakthroughs in your life.
Massive Breakthroughs come from a concerted effort, not only to change, but also to understand the need for change and the direction to move.
Massive Breakthroughs can take years (like the ten year Overnight Success) or they can happen at a rapid pace. The rate at which you manifest positive change in your life will be in direct proportion to your ability to pass those "pop quizzes" presented by the Universe.
Remember, those pop quizzes are often disguised as major obstacles, or major setbacks. Don't dismay. These, after all, are signs that there is a path for you. You have just simply wandered off of it.
Regardless of your circumstance, remember that in this moment, everything is OK. Your job now is to find the lesson, and then find the path toward the third level of learning.
Remember, it's not enough to understand the concept of the lesson.
Next, time I will share why this is so much more challenging than it seems. This will bring you to the third level of learning and speed up your Massive Breakthrough!
Keep at it.
Do Great Things!
